Merlin the Magic Begins
Merlin stars Jason Connery, the son of Sean, and Deborah Moore, the daughter of Roger, in a story based on the King Arthur legend. In this version of the Arthur tale, Merlin is a young man who must learn to control his blossoming magical powers while fighting to protect the benevolent forest people against the black magic of the evil Rengal. Scheduled release date is Autumn 1999. Filmed on location in Peebles, Scotland - September - October 1997.
"Merlin" impressed with its special effects. Jason starred as the magical wizard of King Arthur's times, telling the story of Camelot from the king's discovery of Excalibur to Guinevere's betrayal to the downfall of the kingdom. The two-part series garnered a total of 15 Emmy nods. An all-star cast included Garath Thomas, Deborah Moore and Graham MacTavish.
