THE THIRST, a vampire opus helmed by Tom (STRIKE BACK) Shell from a Ramesh Thadani script, follows next in the Psycho Studios pipeline. The film stars newcomer A.J. Draven and Allison (SINGLE WHITE FEMALE 2) Lange, with Tony (CANDYMAN) Todd, THE HITCHER’s C. Thomas Howell, Jason (URBAN GHOST STORY) Connery, Mark (1989’s PHANTOM OF THE OPERA) Ryan and Mark (GACY) Holton boosting the genre clout. Burman, Pearlman, Ricart and Draven produced, and Farley and Shulman encored on the FX. Assembly Line Home Entertainment will distribute.

“THE THIRST tells the story of Will, a hippie college student who finds himself in the middle of a battle between vampires and a group of warlocks called Sentries,” Pearlman says. “In the spirit of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, Will is bitten by a seductive vampire and must come to terms with his new state of being. Tony Todd plays Julian, the leader of a vampire coven. Jason Connery plays his jealous underling Claudius. C. Thomas Howell and Mark Holton make appearances as two gun-toting rednecks, while A.J. Draven stars as Will, the reluctant hero. Mark Ryan, who co-starred with Jason Connery in the ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD TV series, plays Reeve, the lead Sentry.

“THE THIRST is an interesting little hybrid, and it has been described by many as ‘BLADE on a college campus,’ ” Pearlman adds. “It’s a vampire film that incorporates action, horror, fantasy and some comedy. Tony Todd is great in the film and has such a commanding presence. THE THIRST is meant to be pure fun, and fans of vampire/action hybrids will take a liking to it.” Due for release March 2006.
